About the position:

Location: Houston, TX, or Arlington, VA (Hybrid—2-3 days in the office)


This role will:

• Perform Long-Lead-Time (LLT) analysis of the Bill-of-Material (BOM), early in the Design-Phase of New Product Development.

• Identify and manage Single-Source and Sole-Source Components in the BOM under development.

• Create and maintain approved component and vendor lists in collaboration with Category Managers and Product Engineering.

• Perform Risk-Buy analysis for components to avoid delays in Product Launch.

• Identify second source components for components in the BOM

• Collaborate with Category Managers to develop sourcing strategies and drive implementation in new product developments

• Drive design-to-cost with product design Engineering in choosing most economical components through Techno-Commercial benchmarking

• Works with Design Engineering to ensure On-Time documentation and release of the component to ensure On-Time release of the POs.

• Participates in weekly Program Execution Team (PET) meetings to update actions from Procurement & Supply-Chain perspectives and coordinate support from other cross-functions.

• Create and drive Cost-Reduction-Opportunities from products in Mass-Production



What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
  • The preferred candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience, preferably in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
  • Strong Fundamentals in Electrical / Electronics Engineering is required to understand all requirements from the Design team.
  • Ability to resolve Critical Technical problems, effectively and efficiently, by coordinating Technical conversations between suppliers and design experts required.
  • Exposure in BESS Industry would be a plus.
