The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement control algorithms and embedded systems for our advanced products. This role requires a deep understanding of embedded systems, real-time control, and hardware/software integration to drive performance in dynamic environments.Accountabilities• Design, develop, and test embedded control software for microcontrollers, PLCs, and other control hardware.• Develop and implement real-time control algorithms to enhance system performance and ensure optimal product operation.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration of control systems.• Conduct debugging, troubleshooting, and validation of embedded software and hardware.• Optimize code performance, reliability, and efficiency using industry-standard development tools and best practices.• Participate in requirements gathering, system architecture design, and risk analysis.• Create documentation for design, development, and testing processes to support production and maintenance.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering• 3+ years of experience in embedded systems development, ideally in control system applications.• Proficiency in C and experience with embedded software development tools (MPLAB X a plus).• Strong understanding of control theory, real-time systems, and signal processing.• Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and digital signal processors (DSPs).• Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, SPI, UART, I2C) and their implementation in embedded systems.• Experience with hardware debugging tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and emulators.• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.Preferred Skills• Experience with Microchip products.• Experience with FreeRTOS or other RTOS platforms.• Familiarity with version control systems like Git and continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines.Physical Requirements• Standing– The body is supported by legs and feet for extended periods of time.• Sitting – The body is supported by buttocks and back and employee needs to remain seated for extended periods of time.• Medium Work –Walking and standing may be required more than 50% of the day.Fulton is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
