Cost Control Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Control Analyst to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring effective financial management and cost control across our projects. The ideal candidate will analyze financial data, monitor budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities. 

  • Develop and implement cost control policies and procedures.
  • Assist in monitoring and recording project expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
  • Input cost data into financial systems and databases, maintaining up-to-date records for analysis.
  • Help in the preparation and maintenance of project budgets, ensuring all expenses are accounted for.
  • Assist in conducting cost analysis to identify trends and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Review and process supplier invoices, ensuring they are accurate and appropriately allocated to projects.
  • Organize and maintain documentation related to project costs, including contracts, purchase orders, and expense reports.
  • Assist in preparing for audits by compiling necessary documentation and providing information as required.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding invoices and discrepancies to ensure timely resolution.
  • Support the training of new staff on cost control processes and systems as needed.
  • Attend project meetings to gather financial information and provide updates on cost status.
  • Conduct research on best practices in cost control and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating cost control software and tools used for tracking expenses.
  • Help ensure compliance with internal financial policies and relevant regulations.
  • Assist in developing cost projections based on historical data and current project information.
  • Support monthly reconciliation of project accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to cost control and financial management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external teams.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Etc)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred or three years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus but not required.
