This position serves as a working supervisor maintaining complex ledgers while assisting with and reviewing the deposit entries into the SAP accounting system. This position also facilitates the Department of Corrections, Department of Juvenile Justice, and the Prisoner Review Board’s accounts receivable and receipt inquiries. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.Essential Functions• Serves as working supervisor.• Maintains complex ledgers based on data supplied by accounting staff.• Assists with and reviews the deposit entry into the Systems Application and Products (SAP) accounting system by subordinates.• Facilitates Department of Corrections, Department of Juvenile Justice, and Prisoner Review Board’s accounts receivable and receipt inquiries.• Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.Minimum Qualifications• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, with courses in business administration and accounting.• Requires two (2) years of professional experience in accounting, external auditing, budgetary planning and control or public accounting.Preferred Qualifications• Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience applying accounting principles to receipt verification and processing.• Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience serving as a supervisor over professional staff.• Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience compiling data and applying them appropriately to accounting ledgers.• Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience implementing processes and procedures to comply with corrective measures taken to maintain effective receipt reconciliation.• Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience reviewing, auditing and approving Receipt Deposit documents.• Prefers at least three (3) years of experience working with the SAP accounting system or other equivalent accounting system.Conditions of Employment• Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.• Requires ability to pass a drug screen.
