Sr. Landscape Designer

Qualifications

·        Strong skills in the application of Autodesk, Adobe and LandFX products.

·        Understand approval and permitting process for landscape architectural and planning projects.

·        Strong skills in site development, early schematic planning, and preparing conceptual design documents.

·        Strong understanding of cross discipline concepts, methods and application.

·        Understand client goals, project schedules, and budgets; is able to work efficiently within project guidelines.

·        Communicates in a timely and effective manner within team and with clients, various agencies, and other disciplines working on project. 

·        Desire to train team members on programs used in designing landscape architectural systems.

·        Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple project deadlines and client expectations.

·        Strong skills in overall design development, construction documentation and administration of both public and private projects.

The estimated starting base salary for this role is $75,000-$90,000.

Your Day to Day:

  • Uphold Galloway’s values and standards by understanding and responding to

·        client needs while providing quality consulting services.

  • Perform assignments designed to develop professional general working knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria needed to carry out a sequence of related landscape architectural tasks. 
  • Assume a greater degree of judgment for work details and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of design alternatives.
  • Assist, and in some cases lead, in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for subdivisions, commercial developments, multifamily developments, and public works projects. 
  • Assist, and in some cases lead, the preparation of calculations, such as irrigation requirements, landscape area and material quantities, grading impacts, and cost estimates, and provides other supporting documentation for public and private projects. 
  • Perform plan drafting using CADD software.
  • Takes an active role in new business development by performing quality production work to build strong relationships with existing clients.

Education

·        Bachelor’s or master’s in landscape architecture, Planning or Urban Planning from a four-year, accredited university.

Experience

·        Typically, 7+ years of experience in landscape architectural design or planning.
