Head of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Partnerships
Location: This position is remote or hybrid. Soltis has offices in St. George, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Dallas, and Phoenix. Regular travel required for conferences and meetings, with occasional travel to St. George, UT, for client pitches.
Soltis Investment Advisors is seeking an experienced Head of M&A and Partnerships to be a member of the Senior Leadership Team (“SLT”) and business partner to the CEO, CFO and Board of Directors (“Board”). The Head of M&A and Partnerships will be responsible for leading the firm's acquisition strategy, overseeing the identification, sourcing, evaluation, execution, and integration of M&A opportunities, including acquisitions of wealth management firms and advisor tuck-ins/lift-outs. This role is crucial to the firm's growth trajectory and requires a seasoned professional with a strong network and deep expertise in deal-making, financial analysis, and integration planning within the wealth management industry. The Head of M&A and Partnerships will work closely with the SLT and Board, as well as with the company’s private equity sponsors, Estancia Capital Partners and LLR Partners (“Co-investors”), to ensure alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives.Primary Accountabilities:• Coordinate with SLT and Board to shape and drive the Company’s overall M&A strategy.• Lead sourcing efforts, leveraging network in the wealth management space and attending industry events and conferences to identify accretive wealth management acquisitions and advisor tuck-ins/lift-outs in accordance with the Company’s broader growth strategy.• Develop proactive, outbound business development and lead generation projects (e.g., conferences, meetings, cold-calling, email campaigns).• Develop relationships with potential M&A targets, effectively pitching the Soltis brand and highlighting the benefits of joining Soltis.• Lead assessment of potential acquisition targets with comprehensive diligence efforts, including legal, compliance, financial, and operational diligence (in collaboration with SLT, Board, Co-investors, & third-party resources).• Oversee detailed financial modeling and valuation analyses to assess the attractiveness of potential transactions, including synergy identification and post-acquisition impact on the firm’s financial performance (Co-investors to support, as needed).• Collaborate with SLT and Board in negotiations with target companies, managing the end-to-end M&A process, including deal structuring, contract negotiations, and closing activities; and ensuring favorable deal terms while managing relationships with key stakeholders, including sellers, advisors, and legal teams.• Spearhead capital market activity (e.g., debt financing, exit activities) in partnership with CFO and Co-investors.• Prepare the organization to be “deal ready” and collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute comprehensive integration plans, ensuring smooth transitions (human capital, technology, etc.) and realizing synergies post-acquisition.• Build a high-performing M&A function including underlying sourcing and integration teams that are focused on accountability and effective team performance.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree required. Finance and/or accounting degree preferred.• Extensive wealth management M&A execution. Integration experience preferred.• Prior end-to-end deal experience (including research, sourcing, modeling, execution, and integration), with ability to negotiate complex deals, preferred.• Background in investment banking, private equity, or wealth management corporate development.• Competence in quantitative and analytical skills, including understanding in financial statement analysis and valuation modeling.• Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred), Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.• Ability to prioritize tasks, communicate expectations, and adhere to deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate to various levels within an organization, and with external partners and potential prospects.• Strong drive, proactive mindset, and results-oriented attitude.About Soltis Investment Advisors (www.soltisadvisors.com):Soltis Investment Advisors, LLC is an SEC registered investment advisory firm based in St. George, Utah with offices acorss the country.
