At Gorgias, the Growth team is responsible for optimizing the entire customer journey—accelerating acquisition, improving activation, and driving expansion. Initially this includes ownership of our billing system, pricing and packaging, and onboarding experiences.
The vision for the team includes expansion into a full tribe dedicated to Product Led Growth, partnering with our Go-To-Market teams and driving expansion and monetization of new and existing products. About the Role
The role is leading a high-performing squad currently focused on revamping our billing system and integrations with our financial partners. You will work with stakeholders in the Go-To-Market, Finance, and Product orgs to ensure the successful delivery of this work while leading the engineers and guiding their decision making.
At Gorgias, our engineering managers perform both technical and people leadership functions. While not directly in the code day-to-day, you will provide guidance, review the team’s work, and help team members grow their technical and non-technical skills to move forward in their career. You’ll partner with the Product and Design teams to make sure plans are technically feasible and achievable and keep the team focused on desired business outcomes.
The position is available in our Toronto (Canada) office and across our European hubs, including Paris (France), Lisbon (Portugal), Belgrade (Serbia), and Bucharest (Romania). Our work arrangement is hybrid, with a requirement of two days per week in the office.
5+ years experience in software development, preferably SaaS product development.
2+ years of experience in an engineering manager position
Experience with high-traffic applications and continuous development/deployment
Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous workloads
Big plus if you have managed through architectural transformations, especially from Monolithic ones heavy on cron-jobs towards Event-driven architecture
Desirable experience with Kafka, Python, Flink and Java
Desireable to have worked in a distributed team across time-zones before
