Safety Training Professional

Job Purpose

Support Groendyke Safety in the development of drivers, new hire and those of tenure through the use of advanced hands on training simulations. Assist in the creation and be responsible for standardized implementation of training and safety programs. Instill standardized, safe, and efficient work practices in all drivers to develop a workplace that allows all employees to exceed safety and loss prevention goals while performing job functions.

Description

This role directly impacts and upholds the high safety standards of the only 9-time NTTC North American Safety Champion for the best overall safety record and program on the continent. This person leads company safety and training initiatives in their region, requiring travel to facilities across Texas as well as Enid, OK, for driver training and other areas as needed. Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and training drivers in critical competencies such as driving, loading, and unloading of bulk liquid products.
  • Mentoring drivers, driver managers, and other personnel to mitigate unsafe behaviors.
  • Conducting OSHA inspections.
  • Coordinating evaluations of risk behaviors and implementing retraining of fundamental concepts.
  • Conducting root-cause analyses of safety events.
  • Fostering continuous improvement across all terminals.

This position reports to the Corporate Safety Manager.

•    High School diploma required; job experience may substitute
•    Class A CDL preferred with tanker and hazmat endorsements
•    Driver Instructor experience
•    Vision and leadership skills
•    Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations
