Director of Medicare Marketing Compliance
The Director of Medicare Marketing Compliance will lead the implementation, monitoring, and management of our compliance program, with a primary focus on Medicare Advantage and Part D marketing compliance. This role requires recent hands-on experience as the primary project manager to obtain approvals for Medicare marketing materials from insurance companies and TPMO stakeholders, as well as submit them to HPMS. Positioned as a business-oriented leader, the Director will ensure adherence to CMS marketing regulations while driving compliance as an enabler of growth and business objectives. Collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, Marketing, and Product teams, this individual will ensure alignment on compliance requirements across all areas of the Healthcare.com Marketplace business. Reporting directly to the SVP of Operations, this role may expand over time to manage a small team and address broader company compliance needs. This is a dynamic opportunity to play a critical role in driving compliance excellence and supporting organizational success.
Responsibilities:
Implement and oversee the marketing compliance program, including but not limited to CMS marketing compliance, FCC 1-to-1 TCPA consent, general ACA marketing, etc.
Manage end-to-end review, feedback, and revision process of CMS Marketing and Communications materials
Manage the filing of Medicare marketing materials in HPMS and securing carrier opt-ins
Build and maintain trusting and credible relationships with stakeholders, including carriers and distributor compliance teams
Represent department on cross-functional teams and projects as the compliance subject matter expert (SME)
Produce Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), training materials, and relevant policies to guide development of Medicare materials
Coordinate with senior management on all issues affecting compliance
Supporting various company-wide strategic compliance initiatives
Qualifications:
Exceptional project management and process implementation skill
Comfort with navigating ambiguous compliance requirements
Previous experience managing CMS/carrier asset approval for Medicare and ACA lines of business
Capable of accurately identifying issues and synthesizing business implications for review and decision making required
Being a partner to business stakeholders on how to compliantly achieve business objectives
Ability to design streamlined compliance processes, train teams on them, and demonstrate the value of such processes to achieving business outcomes
Ability to facilitate meetings and achieve consensus
A deep interest in online consumer behavior
Deep understanding of the Medicare and ACA/Alt-ACA compliance landscape
Proficient with project management tools, such as Jira, Confluence, Monday.com, etc.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable with ambiguity and possess a ‘figure it out & get it done’ mentality
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Previous project management experience
7-10 years previous experience in a compliance rigorous role
This position is 100% remote, with occasional travel.
