We are based in San Francisco, with offices in New York and Chicago. We are open to hiring in the following states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C.


As a Talent and Inclusion intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting and advancing our recruitment and DIBs initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and collaborative environment. Operating with a strong equity-focused approach, the intern will assist the DIBs team in embedding the agency’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIBs) vision and strategy across all aspects of the agency's culture, systems, policies, and practices. In addition, the intern will support recruiting efforts, manage onboarding processes, and coordinate employee engagement initiatives to foster an inclusive and equitable work environment.


This position will be based out of Highwire PR’s San Francisco office location in the heart of the financial district/Jackson Square. At Highwire PR, we believe in a flexible work environment. Interns will need to be in the office 2 days a week (Tuesday or Wednesday plus mandatory Thursdays) and can work from home on other days.


Key Responsibilities

  • Interview Coordination: Supporting with scheduling interviews for the Recruiting team, ensuring alignment between candidates, interviewers, and any necessary resources.
  • Onboarding System Management: Overseeing the entry and updating new hire information in the onboarding system, ensuring all data is accurately recorded and up to date.
  • Employee Engagement & Recognition: Coordinating and managing the scheduling of birthday cards and new hire plant deliveries.
  • Office Experience Responsibilities as assigned.

  • Supporting project management activities, including support for our (5) affinity groups, planning of key heritage celebrations, and educational opportunities for staff.
  • Contributing to DIBs communications and development of assets.
  • Supporting the integration of DIBs tools in practice groups and business units.
  • Generating innovative program ideas; learning in as a creative thinker to improve the employee experience.
  • Leading with a growth mindset (i.e., you're excited to try new things and believe challenges will help you grow).
  • Assisting in employer branding activities, leveraging various platforms to engage potential candidates.


Learning Opportunities
  • Gain practical experience in DIBs and HR in an agency setting.
  • Co-create an affinity group tracker, including metrics tied to membership participation, engagement outcomes and promotions.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to project manage small-mid scale programs from start to finish and support the day-to-day operations of larger-scale programs.

  • College graduate.

  • Strong Communication & Organizational Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Self-Motivation & Independence: Capable of completing tasks and projects with minimal supervision after training, while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of professionalism.
  • Collaboration & Relationship Building: Strong team player with the ability to connect and collaborate across all levels of the organization, generating results and fostering a positive, inclusive culture.
  • Creative & Growth-Oriented: Innovative thinker with a growth mindset, eager to explore new ideas, tackle challenges, and continuously improve DIBs practices.
  • Project Management: Experience supporting and implementing projects, ensuring timely execution and adherence to established objectives and timelines.
  • Confidentiality & Discretion: Demonstrates sound judgment and discretion, particularly when handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Ability to align and collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to meet needs and deliver effective services.
  • Content Creation & Communication: Strong writing and editing skills to create clear, concise content for training, programs, and employer branding initiatives.
  • Employer Branding Support: Experience assisting with employer branding efforts to engage potential candidates and promote organizational culture.


$20 - $20 an hour
This is a six-month paid internship. Successful interns may be offered full-time employment (we’re rooting for you!).
