Data Center Engineering Design Team Leader

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Leadership and Team Management:

- Lead and mentor a globally distributed team of design engineers, ensuring high performance and continuous development.

- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting innovation and excellence.

- Coordinate with regional design teams to standardize processes and ensure consistency in design practices.

 

2. Design and Engineering:

- Oversee the development of comprehensive MEP designs for new and existing data centers.

- Ensure that all designs meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

- Integrate CSA principles into the design process to ensure the structural integrity and safety of data center facilities.

 

3. Operational Support:

- Provide expert engineering support for the operation and maintenance of data centers.

- Develop and implement strategies for improving operational efficiency and reliability.

- Collaborate with the operations team to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

 

4. Project Management:

- Lead the planning and execution of data center design projects from inception to completion.

- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including construction, IT, and security, to align project goals and deliverables.

 

5. Strategic Planning and Innovation:

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience in data center design, with a focus on MEP engineering.

- Proven experience in CSA principles and their application in data center environments.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

- Demonstrated success in leading and managing globally distributed teams.

- Strong background in providing operational engineering support for data centers.

- Experience in technical evaluation of design submissions and optimizing data hall standards.

- Familiarity with code and fire code regulations, and experience with liquid cooling deployments.
