Hood Industries, Inc. is seeking a People Operations Manager for our Beaumont, MS facility. The mill has approximately 250 employees. The ideal candidate would provide guidance and advice to the Plant Manager and members of the site management team in all aspects of human resources. This position would plan, organize, direct, control, and coordinate all site human resource activities. They would be expected to manage required recordkeeping, administrative processes, and regulatory and compliance guidelines.
Position Description:
• Provides onsite HR leadership and organizational support to management to achieve operational goals.
• Provides guidance and support to employees regarding HR policies and programs.
• Manages the Leave of Absence Programs which includes FMLA, personal leaves, Disability and ADAAA accommodation requests.
• Oversees day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining employee files and processing paperwork such as hires, transfers, performance reviews, absenteeism, and terminations.
• Conducts investigations into employee complaints and provides conflict resolution.
• Assumes the leadership role in resolving employee relations issues, coaching management through the process.
• Responsible for the recruiting, training, and retention of a qualified workforce.
• Must operate within regulatory compliance including, but not limited to FMLA, ADA, EEO/Affirmative Action, and other federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Capable of managing a fast-paced work environment.

Required skills/experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in human resources at the professional/management level.
• Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring employees.
• Broad knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and practical application of Human Resources functions.
• Experience dealing with significant employee relations issues including investigations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• SHRM or HRCI Certification is a plus.
