HRIS Manager

This position is Remote. Candidates will be considered based on their qualifications and the candidate’s ability to work from an approved work location. Although the location is flexible, AEP does not have a presence in all states and localities. The following locations are NOT currently approved for this position: AK, CO, CT, DE, HI, IA, ID, KS, MA, ME, MS,MT, ND, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OR, RI, SD, UT, VT, WY,MT, US Territories, or international work locations. AEP will consider qualified candidates who are willing to relocate to an approved work location, at the candidate’s expense, provided the relocation can be completed within a timeframe that meets AEP’s staffing needs.

The Workday HRIS Manager will lead the oversight and administration of the Workday Human Resources Information System (HRIS) platform. This includes the platform configuration and architecture to ensure best practices. This individual will work closely with various teams within the organization to support and enhance the functionality of the system to meet business needs. This position will also provide guidance and mentorship to other members of the Workday team. Ensure availability of Human Resource applications, data, and required processes supporting AEP’s HR function Serve as the primary liaison between HR and the IT organization. AEP HR is in a period of transformation. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed below:

  • Identify optimization and automation opportunities and support initiatives related to Workday Recruitment, HCM, Onboarding and other modules Drive HR initiatives by working with the business to map out the strategy and roadmap for the implementation of new features, enhancements and applications.

  • Lead and mentor a team of Workday Configuration and Process Analysts

  • Coaching and mentoring of direct and indirect reports, including contingent workers, to a high standard. Develop an agile team that is proactive and innovative, ready for the challenges of delivering project and iterative releases.

  • Develop and maintain complex Workday reports and dashboards to support HR and business needs

  • Establish practices and systemic controls to ensure the accuracy and completeness of HR data within Workday.

  • Manages delivery of Workday-releases and projects

  • Provide expert-level support to resolve complex technical issues.

  • Maintains current knowledge of new and innovative technology trends for system architecture, software capabilities, and new products as they relate to HR.

  • Oversees vendor, service providers and coordinates with IT teams (external and internal) to ensure timely, accurate delivery of contracted services.

Minimum Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, or related field.

Experience/Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience with Workday or similar HRIS software

  • 3+ years of experience with multiple Workday modules including HCM, Recruiting, Advanced Compensation, Talent, Benefits, and Payroll. Workday certification in one or more modules preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership or manager level role.

  • Strong experience managing system configurations and integrations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience developing and writing reports using HRIS & payroll data

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Strong project leadership skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience within a corporation servicing multiple lines of business desired

  • Familiarity with SOX controls and experience implementing them in an HRIS environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Skills: Excellent analytical, verbal, written, and problem solving communication skills

Location: Prefer to have candidates who are located in either CST or EST.
