Human Services Caseworker Associate - Foster Care

Introduction

The Prince William County Department of Social Services is seeking to hire a highly motivated individual to fill a Human Services Caseworker Associate position on the Foster Care Team in the Family Support and Services Division. The Foster Care Team works with families who are at high risk for child abuse and neglect. If you have good multi-tasking skills with the ability to work with several program areas simultaneously you will be successful in this role.

The Prince William Department of Social Services staff over 480 employees, serve the community through adult and child-welfare programs, public benefits distribution, and homeless prevention services. ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Human Services Caseworker Associate will coordinate with Human Service Caseworkers across the division to deliver services to clients such as conducting home visits, supervising visitation and providing transportation to appointments. You will assist clients to overcome barriers to meet their personal, social, health and economic needs. You will collect and maintain statistical information about clients and their programs and record information in case records. You will ensure that administrative duties are performed on a consistent basis with a high rate of quality and accuracy. MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 3 years of related experience.


PREFERENCES:

Experience working in child welfare or foster care programs;
Experience assisting families to overcome personal, social, health and economic barriers;
Experience preparing reports and maintaining case documentation.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
M-F 37.5 hours per week.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
All DSS staff members are required to provide emergency human services work in the event of an emergency or community disaster. The successful candidate must be eligible drive a county vehicle.

Must pass local, state and federal background checks.

ENTRY SALARY RANGE: $27.63 - $39.70 Hourly
