The Role

We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Security Engineer Intern to join our Summer 2025 Internship program. This role offers hands-on experience in building and maintaining secure systems to protect critical financial data and infrastructure. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to identify vulnerabilities, implement security solutions, and ensure compliance with security best practices.

Location

This role will be a hybrid work format, with time split between working remotely and working onsite from our New York HQ, 2-3 days a week as required by your manager.

What You’ll Do

  • Threat Analysis: Identify and analyze potential security vulnerabilities in our systems and infrastructure.

  • Security Tooling: Assist in optimizing and implementing security tools for monitoring, detection, and response.

  • Compliance Support: Ensure compliance with security regulations and standards, such as PCI-DSS.

  • Incident Response: Support the response to security incidents, including triage, analysis, and mitigation.

  • Collaboration: Work with engineering and operations teams to implement secure coding practices and infrastructure configurations.

  • Documentation: Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and incident playbooks.

What We’re Looking For

  • Incoming College Juniors, Seniors, or graduate students graduating in 2025-2026.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with security concepts such as encryption, authentication, and threat modeling.

  • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (Python, Bash, or Java preferred).

  • Experience with security tools like SIEMs, firewalls, or vulnerability scanners is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Interest in fintech or securing financial systems.
