About incident.io

incident.io is an incident management platform that helps companies when things go wrong. Whether they're site outages, data breaches, or functionality issues, incidents happen literally all the time. When they do, we help get the right people in the room, we run and communicate how you're responding, and we give you a suite of tools and insights to learn and improve over time.

The Team

The small but mighty Marketing team at incident.io is responsible for accelerating revenue growth. As our only Product Marketer, you’ll work directly with the CMO to develop product messaging and positioning, sales plays, campaigns, go-to-market programs, and sales enablement.

In this role, you’ll play a critical role in establishing incident.io as the market leader in incident response, guiding us through our hypergrowth phase.

How will you do this? By creating remarkable content that sparks interest, builds sales pipeline, and ultimately wins new customers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Understanding our market and customers by conducting research with customers and prospects to identify needs, preferences, and pain points. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies while mapping the competitive landscape.

  • Empowering sales to hit their number, by synthesizing customer challenges, market insights, and product benefits to create impactful sales enablement materials. Develop resources such as sales scripts, presentations, one-pagers, battle cards, and case studies to equip the sales team to hit their number every quarter.

  • Translating insights to clear, impactful messaging and creating compelling and differentiated narratives that communicate the value we deliver to customers. You will develop a deep understanding of customer personas and pain points to inform messaging and positioning.

  • Influencing marketing strategy and collaborating with Marketing to infuse product messaging across the website, customer-facing communication, marketing campaigns and content strategy.

  • Strengthening product launches, by developing and executing strategies to drive adoption and success of incident.io products. Infuse customer empathy and market insights into every touchpoint of the customer journey.

What you need to be successful:

  • You’ll need a strong product marketing foundation, and you’ve probably read the book ‘Obviously Awesome’ a few times.

  • We’re a startup, so you’ll need to be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Exceptional ability to influence and build trust across all organizational functions and levels.

  • Relevant experience with personas and products in the software engineering space. You might even have your own GitHub account!

  • Ability to communicate complex and technical ideas simply and effectively both internally and externally.

The salary for this position is determined by several job-related factors, such as experience, relevant skills, training, location, business needs, or market demands.
