This role will be responsible for setting and communicating daily, weekly, and monthly goals to team members, organizing workflow by assigning responsibilities, preparing schedules in laboratory environment. This leader will require the ability to empower, coach, and mentor team members for both growth and development. The Shipping Supervisor works with a team to ensure health and safety codes are followed, timely production output and identify issues in efficiency and make suggestions while adhering to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and a problem solver and can meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.Responsibilities• Motivate and guide team in environmental health and safety, quality, fulfillment, cost, cash and employee engagement objectives• Participates in cross-functional team activities in the development and implementation of new processes, tools and / or equipment• Overseeing accurate shipment of sampling media quantities and combinations worldwide via various methods, speeds, and prices.• Overseeing the receipt of daily supply shipments and customer orders, stocking the shipment, and pre-sorting the customer orders for the lab.• Overseeing the cleaning and redeployment of intricate rental equipment: micro-biological impaction samplers, hand-held laser particle counters, etc.• Actively managing fluid inventory levels with parts that deplete and variable rates.• Forecasting demand to have adequate numbers of parts prepped and supplies ordered so that we're never unable to fulfil an order due to lack of supply and so that we're able to avoid or minimize rush fees resulting from improper planning.• Develop and maintain technical knowledge of scientific SOPs, especially as regards proper sanitary storage, preparation, and cleaning of parts.• Develop and maintain professional relations with supply vendors, postal carriers, and facilities technicians.• Responsible for employee job training, employee performance & development, employee discipline, policies and procedures compliance, attendance and vacation schedules, labor reporting, inventory accuracy, etc.• Promotes employee development through effective verbal and written communications, cross-training skills, and appropriate use of teams to support problem solving and continuous improvementRequirements• High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Technical related field is preferred• 2+ years of leadership experience• Understanding of KPI's (key performance indicators)• Understanding of Lean principles and responsibilities• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle internal and external contacts in a positive, assertive, and effective manner is required.• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power PointTravel & Work Arrangements/Requirements• This position will be based at our site in Austin, TX with minimal anticipated travel.What We OfferAt Ingersoll Rand, we embrace a culture of personal ownership — taking responsibility for our company, our communities, and our environment, as well as our individual health and well-being.
