Job Description: 

At Intel, our interns have the opportunity to touch the entire software ecosystem. As part of one of the most influential software companies in the world, you'll be at the forefront of everything from enhanced usability and security to integrated software and hardware solutions, to seamless connectivity.

In this position, you will be part of the Platform Firmware Integration and Validation Team, which is responsible for Silicon Firmware integration and quality assurance on Intel server platforms. You will be a part of a global team working on the next generations of Intel products.

Key responsibilities across the organization include, although are not limited to:

  • Developing validation test plans,
  • Creating test case definitions, including modeling HW interfaces to firmware.
  • Debugging test suite failures, and validating bug resolutions.
  • Developing the FW and related IP/SOC architecture.
  • Developing and utilizing various software tools, APIs, and/or methodologies to ensure high-quality firmware.
  • Reading and interpreting technical specifications (specs),
  • communicating effectively, coordinating, and working with Firmware Developers, Architects, and IP teams.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Candidate must possess a relevant educational background and active student status for the next 12 or 24 months,
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong skills in overall programming, preferably in Python,
  • Knowledge of Git or other VCS, Practical knowledge of concepts in the following domains: validation automation, validation frameworks, and scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Knowledge of validation concepts: unit / functional/ integration / exploratory / performance/scalability tests,
  • Analytical and methodical problem-solving skills,
  • Systematic and well-organized approach,
  • English on a communicative level - written and spoken.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of agile-based software development methodologies,
  • Knowledge of software validation concepts,
  • Good sense of humor.
