About the role

We are seeking a Prompt Engineer on contract, 10-15 hours per week, to support our work building conversational companions. In collaboration with our engineers, scientists, and product team, the role involves creating and iterating on LLM and VLM prompts for a number of different tasks, as well as a small amount of data gathering and quality control.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop complex prompts to accomplish specific internal business tasks.

  • Use our internal tools to gather ground truth data that measures the efficacy of those prompts.

  • Collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to discuss methodology and share results.

Required qualifications:

  • Fluent in English.

  • Familiar with data annotation work and scripting through coursework, internships, or personal projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with LLM prompting (ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, etc) through personal or professional use.

  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and communication, for example, a Bachelor’s degree in English.

Location: Remote, based near New York City. There is an expectation for occasional office visits.
