Director of Community and Operations

About Us

We are a public-benefit applied training institute for mental health providers, dedicated to redefining how mental health care is delivered, taught, and shared. As both a direct care provider and an education hub, we create a space where client care, provider development, and community support come together to drive meaningful change.

Our mission is to build a cutting-edge training institute for mental health providers at all levels. By harnessing emerging technology and streamlined operations, we aim to innovate mental health support services and provider education. Our approach centers on care, creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement — fostering a space where personal and organizational growth can thrive.

We value people-centered systems thinking and human-centered innovation. As we expand, we’re seeking a Director of Community & Operations to help shape the next evolution of our organization. This role is a rare opportunity to make a lasting impact on the future of mental health care and provider training.

About the Role

The Director of Community & Operations is a mission-critical leadership role that drives the essential functions supporting our team, community, and administrative processes. As the operational backbone of our organization, you’ll ensure smooth daily operations, foster community development, and promote cross-functional collaboration.

As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll partner with the Executive Director and Clinical Director to strengthen internal systems, enhance team communications, and sustain impactful community relationships. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on management, making it ideal for someone who thrives on variety, problem-solving, and people-centered leadership.

This role is perfect for a big-picture thinker who excels at bringing order to complexity. If you’re passionate about social impact, skilled at operational optimization, and energized by creating processes that empower teams and communities, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Bring

You’re not here to fill a role — you’re here to shape it. As a key operational leader, you will design systems, develop strategy, and drive momentum to support our mission and growth. Your work will ensure teams, processes, and initiatives move forward with clarity, alignment, and efficiency.

You excel at navigating complexity with a clear, steady approach. As a systems thinker and relationship builder, you see connections where others see silos. You move fluidly between strategy and execution, ensuring plans are not only developed but also realized. Pragmatic and solutions-oriented, you turn ambiguity into action and prioritize outcomes that create lasting impact.

Your influence will be felt across the organization. From refining internal operations to strengthening community relationships, your work will create the conditions for people, processes, and partnerships to thrive. If you’re driven by social impact, adept at building systems of support, and ready to unify operations, community-building, and strategic growth, this role offers the opportunity to lead with purpose.

You’re Likely to Succeed If You

💡 Strategic Systems Builder
You balance big-picture thinking with meticulous attention to detail. You design scalable systems and workflows that streamline operations, reduce friction, and keep teams aligned toward shared goals.

💬 People-Centric Leader
You lead with empathy, clarity, and thoughtful communication. You excel at uniting teams, managing conflict, and fostering an environment where people feel supported, seen, and empowered to do their best work.

📋 Operational Powerhouse
You bring order to complexity. Whether it’s creating SOPs, developing workflows, or building out processes from scratch, you turn ambiguity into clarity and keep operations running smoothly and consistently.

💻 Tech-Savvy Systems Optimizer
You master tools like Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, and project management platforms to streamline processes, automate workflows, and boost productivity. Always on the lookout for new AI and productivity tools, you strive to be a "power user," optimizing systems for maximum efficiency and impact.

📈 Growth-Focused Innovator
You’re energized by growth and continuous improvement. Feedback is fuel, and you actively seek opportunities to learn, evolve, and contribute to an organization’s ongoing development and expansion.

🧠 Mental Health Industry Expertise

You have a strong grasp of the mental health field, including industry regulations, clinical licensure, supervision, and provider onboarding. Familiarity with insurance credentialing, billing processes, and compliance standards (like HIPAA and data privacy) is essential. You understand the operational workflows of mental health practices, from managing provider panels to overseeing audits and clinical documentation requirements.

📣 Don’t Meet Every Requirement? Apply Anyway!

We don’t expect you to meet every single criterion, but we do look for people who are excited to grow into the role and fill in any gaps. If you’re unsure whether you meet all the qualifications but feel like you’d thrive in this position — we encourage you to apply. We prioritize skills, competency, and passion over perfection, and we recognize that lived experience can be just as valuable as formal credentials.
