Senior IT Support Technician
Position Summary
The Senior IT Support Technician serves a critical role by working to triage IT help ticket items for employees and maintain optimal functionality of IT systems internally. The Senior IT Support Technician must approach the role with a customer service focus and a desire to support internal customers with IT needs. This role regularly interfaces with employees and helps to establish the reputation for the IT department. Also, when required, this role will assist the server and networking teams by providing onsite support and participate in training other IT teammates. As such, technical knowledge, responsiveness, and interpersonal skills are each critical elements of success in this position.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Execute and respond to routine tasks through the IT Ticketing system: general account administration (network, communication, VPN), device imaging, asset tracking
  • React and respond in a timely manner to break/fix issues: Hardware, Software, connectivity, etc.
  • Provide 2nd level enhanced IT support for complex issues, either directly to end-user or internally through mentoring/guiding IT Support Techs.
  • Participate in authoring KBAs and regularly reviewing existing documentation for updates.
  • Develop cross-functional partnerships with other departmental team members such as HR, Field Services, etc. to drive efficiencies in process/procedure
  • Demonstrate initiative and follow-through with escalations and executive white glove service
  • Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call support in the event of system outages or scheduled downtime.
  • At the direction of IT Leadership, participate in delegation of tasks to global team
  • On request, assist Infrastructure Team with basic server/networking troubleshooting, configuration and implementation
  • Provide instructional tutorials to employees on the use of desktop equipment, and other relevant IT applications
  • Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
  • Associates degree in information technology, trade school certificate or relevant work experience
  • A minimum of five (5) or more years of related work experience; experience in desktop configuration management, administration, and production support
  • A working knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, VPN technology is required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a time-critical production environment
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities coupled with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience working in a globally dispersed, team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to make decisions/provide direction to Support Techs when needed
  • Must possess a customer service approach to work
  • Superior communication skills
  • Excellent follow-through
  • Must be driven and self-motivated
Pay Rate:
$25.94 - $37.41
