Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor), an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA, is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA).

This is a full-time position and requires at least ONE DAY onsite at the any of the following locations:

Ogden, UT

Oklahoma City, OK

Montgomery, AL

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the performance, security, and availability of SQL and Oracle databases.
  • Implement database changes and monitor system performance and health.
  • Perform backups and recovery tasks, including developing disaster recovery plans.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and optimize SQL queries for performance.
  • Collaborate with development teams to provide database design and architectural recommendations.
  • Monitor database environment and provide regular status reports to management.
  • Stay updated on the latest database trends and technologies.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Candidate MUST have Active Secret Clearance
  • 3+ years of experience in database administration and management.
  • Proficiency with SQL Server or Oracle databases
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Security + Certification
