The Role
BuzzFeed inc. is looking for a Junior Social Video Producer to join the Video Adaptations team. We are looking for a creative jack-of-all-trades, with a strong background in editing, deep knowledge of multiple social platforms, and the ability to make data driven creative decisions. This position will use data to inform creative decisions, build audiences across target platforms, and come up with and form a strategy around different initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the Social team, and Brand leads of the brand you'll be assigned to. The ideal candidate is passionate about social media, video editing, content analytics, short-form video, micro-form video, and a self-starter. Success in this role requires someone who can speak the technical language of video editing, video platform best practices, can digest, synthesize, and communicate data to internal stakeholders.
You Will
● Work with the Adaptations Lead Producer and support the Adaptations team to develop and work towards achieving brand channel and social platform-specific goals
● Collaborate with designated social strategists/brand lead of your specific brand to create and adapt content from our existing library to then publish cross-platform
● Routinely reflect on data reports to constantly refine video editing best practices and inform creative decision making with video content
● Use knowledge of trending online video formats to create platform specific videos in the most shareable way
● Contribute to larger brainstorming/pitching sessions to produce video concepts using data driven metrics
● Other duties as assigned
You Have
● A full understanding of the Adobe Creative Cloud ecosystem
● 2+ years of short-form video editing experience
● An in depth knowledge of the CMS for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and other platforms
● An in depth knowledge of Google Workspaces
● The ability to digest large quantities of data from multiple sources
● A passion for social media trends and industry trends
● A strong passion with true crime/paranormal content and in black identity content
● A willingness to balance multiple goals and the ability to track all progress effectively routinely ● Bonus points: If you have an eagerness learning/experimenting with new post-production technologies/workflows
● Bonus points: if you have working experience with DSLR/mobile cameras for video and audio recorders/microphones
● Bonus points: if you have working knowledge of motion graphic design
