About your role

Juniper Square is seeking a Billing and Collections Specialist to play a critical role within our accounting team as we continue to grow and scale. This position reports directly to the Billing Manager and offers an exciting opportunity to take full ownership of the billing and accounts receivable functions.

As a Billing and Collections Specialist, you will utilize your expertise to manage client billing, resolve account discrepancies, and maintain strong customer relationships. You’ll also collaborate with the Billing Manager to identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to automation initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and accuracy.

What you’ll do

• Own the billing process for clients, ensuring accurate invoicing based on contract terms.

• Handle accounts receivable, managing the collections process, and working with customers to resolve outstanding balances.

• Maintain and update customer billing details in the system, ensuring accuracy.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Fund Accounting and Customer Success, to resolve billing and payment issues.

• Assist the Billing Manager in streamlining processes and supporting automation efforts.

• Participate in month-end close processes, providing support with reconciliations and accounts receivable analysis.

• Address billing-related inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders promptly and professionally.

• Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting solutions to enhance the billing workflow.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in a customer-facing role, such as customer service, account management, or project coordination, or 2+ years of experience in a billing or billing-related role.

• Proven proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets.

• Ability to proactively identify and resolve discrepancies in billing data with minimal supervision.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Meticulous attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to problem-solving.

• Ability to adapt to evolving client contract terms and internal processes.

• Ability to quickly analyze information and make sound decisions in response to time-sensitive billing inquiries.

• Experience with Zone Billing, NetSuite and Salesforce is a plus.
