Have you struggled to reserve that coveted summer camping spot at a state park? Have you wondered why you’re stuck filling out a paper form to renew a permit? What about not being able to reserve your favorite pickleball court from your phone?

Kaizen Labs is redefining government technology and building solutions across parks & recreation, permitting, citizen engagement, and more. We recognize that incumbent software systems are inefficient and sometimes broken. That’s why we believe residents and public servants across America’s 85,000 government agencies deserve access to modern, trusted software that rivals what we use in our daily lives.

Kaizen’s software currently serves ~1.5 million residents across the country and this number will increase to 7 million in the first half of 2025. Some of our partners include the City of Santa Clarita, MetroParks of Butler County, and the Town of Weymouth. Here is a quick video capturing the essence of our work with Pima County, AZ!

Founded in 2022 and based in New York City, we’re backed by Accel and Andreessen Horowitz. Our team of 25 (and growing) is eager to leave a lasting impact on the public services that are so critical to our health, safety, and wellness.

Before You Apply…

This role has a travel component to it and requires an individual to have strong autonomy and an entrepreneurial mindset. We find that people who thrive in this role are metrics-driven and also care deeply about our product, mission, and the ability to work at an early-stage startup where you have the ability to make an impact.

Location

This role has the flexibility to be remote on the East Coast. You must be comfortable traveling 25 - 50% of the time for trade shows/conferences, customer meetings, demos, and in-person jam sessions with the team.

What You'll Do...

  • Prospecting & Engagement

    • Research and identify potential business opportunities through various channels

    • Identify and qualify prospects to ensure they meet the ideal customer profile

    • Leverage existing customer relationships to build a strong referral network and develop a territory strategy

  • Sales Execution & Strategy

    • Work closely with the business development team to build and execute communication strategies and outreach sequences.

    • Lead discovery calls with prospective customers, effectively communicating Kaizen’s mission while understanding customers' needs and pain points.

    • Maintain consistent engagement with prospects by proactively following up with timely communications.

    • Innovate on established and traditional sales processes in local government to find creative ways of reaching our target customers

  • Other Ongoing Workflows

    • Collaborate closely with Account Executives to help drive high-qualify demos and customer interactions (i.e. demo planning)

    • Represent Kaizen at in-person conferences and trade shows across the country

    • Learn and leverage various sales enablement tools to drive efficiency in the sales process

    • Regularly update and maintain our sales CRM and track key performance metrics

    • Conduct market research to identify industry and competitor trends
