Communications Specialist

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Communcations Specialist to join our Tallahassee, Florida (FL) office! 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Communications/Public Involvement/Event Planning team and serve as a Project Assistant
  • Information gathering and research
  • Gather requested information independently
  • Assist Public Involvement Team with various public outreach activities
  • Creating tactical media—including email, fliers, press releases, newsletters, social media, & announcements
  • Distribute information to stakeholders—via telephone, email, and in-person
  • Prepare responses to stakeholder inquiries
  • Assist with organizing as well as attending events, conferences and workshops
  • Plan & provide support and document public and team meetings
  • Database maintenance
  • Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office and Adobe Professional
  • Build and maintain spreadsheets
  • Create Power Point presentations and Prezi presentations
  • Create emails, fliers, press releases, newsletters, and announcements
  • Balance and manage multiple tasks and priorities with ease

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of relevant and professional clerical/customer service/communications experience
  • Quick learner, flexible, able to take direction, able to deliver, able to work independently and have strong customer service skills
  • Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to interface with a variety of clients and the public
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule and will be willing to adjust hours to meet client and business needs
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
