The team

We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our growth-focused design team, where creativity meets optimisation. We're seeking an experienced growth designer who takes the lead in exploring new ideas, creating highly engaging moments in our products to drive usage, win hearts and to help set Kraken apart from our competitors. Data-driven at the core, a great candidate appreciates the importance and rigor of a design system but is also able to bring visual flair to express our brand and connect with our users.

The opportunity

  • Identify opportunities and create engaging in-product experiences that drive trust and brand loyalty, ultimately leading to increased acquisition and retention   

  • Utilise data to drive strategy and design decisions; analyze and interpret data to create compelling concepts, sharing insights with executives to shape and propel our products and brand forward

  • Balance business objectives, customer needs, insights and technical constraints to produce data-informed outcomes

  • Bring strong visual and brand skills to increase engagement in our products 

  • Create high quality, delightful experiences with designers, researchers, product managers, content specialists, and engineers

  • Take concepts from research, to exploration, to prototypes, to production

  • Work with speed, iterate quickly and have immediate impact 

  • Actively participate in design reviews both seeking and giving meaningful and supportive feedback

  • Take full accountability for your work and exercise consideration of every detail

  • A Portfolio that Speaks Volumes: Show us the best of your portfolio which highlights your commitment to design quality, data-driven and human-centered design, visual rigour, and optimisation.

  • Mastery of UI/UX: Proficient in creating world-class user-centered designs that align with business goals across mobile and desktop platforms. A keen understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles. 

  • Design Development: More than mastering Figma, you possess an understanding of how designs translate to production and have experience working closely with developers in high-pace environments. 

  • Adherence to Standards: A firm grasp of design standards, ensuring that designs comply with design systems and best practices for usability, accessibility, and industry best practices.

  • Insight and Data-Driven: Understanding of qual and quant data and driven to optimise impact together with partners in UX research, data, and marketing. 

  • Collaborative Spirit and Open-Minded Approach: Thrive in our evolving design team, with an emphasis on continuous learning and egoless collaboration. Keen to help shape our culture and improve how we work.

  • History of Satisfied Collaborations: Demonstrate a track record of successful partnerships with colleagues who would eagerly work with you again.
