Universal Preschool Associate Teacher

The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI. In pursuit of this mission, we are hiring an Universal Preschool Associate Teacher. This individual will help ensure the safety and success of students in the Universal Preschool program. Universal Preschool Associate Teachers build relationships across school sites working to support teachers in ensuring that students are engaged and supported during lessons, and interact with parents and families.


Minimum Qualifications - Must have one of the following:
  • Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field
  • Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
  • Existing 120 Training-Hour approval by MDE
  • Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values


Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with Universal Preschool or GSRP students in an urban setting


Job Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate passion for working with and empathy of Universal Preschool and GSRP students
  • Effectively prioritize tasks as assigned by teachers and school leaders
  • Ensure safety of students in classroom and comply with Universal Preschool and GSRP requirements
  • Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
  • Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
  • Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission


$20 - $23.95 an hour
Placement on the LEA Technical Assistant Scale.

7 hours per day
