Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled DBA/Database Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in managing and developing databases in Oracle and PostgreSQL environments, particularly Amazon RDS. Experience in database migration and conversion between Oracle and PostgreSQL is a strong plus. This role involves database design, optimization, troubleshooting, and supporting complex database applications while ensuring data integrity and performance. This position is fully remote and requires an active Secret clearance or higher.


Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration
  • Manage, maintain, and monitor Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, particularly in Amazon RDS environments.
  • Ensure high availability, security, and performance of database systems.
  • Implement database upgrades, patches, and migrations as needed.
  • Database Development
  • Design and develop database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures for business requirements.
  • Optimize SQL queries and database performance for efficient application functionality.
  • Collaborate with application developers to ensure seamless integration and performance of database-driven applications.
  • Database Conversion and Migration
  • Plan and execute database migration strategies between Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • Convert database objects (tables, procedures, triggers, etc.) from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
  • Address challenges related to data type mapping, PL/SQL to PL/pgSQL translation, and performance tuning post-migration.
  • Automation and Monitoring
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for database backups, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Utilize AWS monitoring tools to ensure database health and performance.
  • Troubleshooting and Support
  • Diagnose and resolve database performance and connectivity issues.
  • Provide on-call support as needed to address critical database issues.
