Job Title: Senior Accountant (Light Cost Accounting Experience)Location: Torrey Pines, San Diego, CACompany: *Confidential*Position Overview: Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant with experience in general accounting and some exposure to cost accounting. This role will support the finance team in managing day-to-day accounting functions, including financial reporting, month-end close, and light inventory cost tracking. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the company's financial integrity. This is a hybrid role based in San Diego, with a Monday-Thursday in-office requirement and remote Fridays.Key Responsibilities:• General Accounting: Manage and execute month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.• Cost Accounting Support: Assist in tracking inventory costs, analyzing cost variances, and preparing financial reports related to product costing.• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.• Inventory Management: Work with the finance team to support inventory tracking and costing functions, ensuring accurate reporting for manufacturing operations.• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including Operations, to ensure financial accuracy and provide financial insight for decision-making.• Audit Support: Assist with annual audits and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and internal policies.• Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization within the accounting function, contributing to the continuous improvement of financial systems and procedures.What We’re Looking For:• Strong foundation in general accounting, with some experience in cost accounting.• Proficiency in month-end close processes, financial reporting, and reconciliations.• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.• Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA/MBA preferred.• Experience with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) is a plus but not required.Additional Benefits:• Bonus: Up to 15% discretionary bonus• Equity: $5,000 in stock options• Work Schedule: Hybrid model (Mon-Thurs in-office, Friday remote)
