Mach Industries is looking for an experienced Business Development Director to sell our products to the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and America’s allies. The ideal candidate will have a deep network within DOD’s innovation arms and program executive offices for unmanned aerial vehicles. Given the multidisciplinary nature of this role, candidates must also be exceptional writers and communicators who are able to easily explain complex topics. It’s also important to note that no job is too big or too small for any member of the Business Development team.
This role will be located in Mach’s headquarters in Huntington Beach, CA; Austin, TX; or Washington, DC. This position reports to Mach’s Senior Vice President of Revenue.
Responsibilities include:
Managing deals from lead generation to close
Top of the funnel lead generation
Developing and closing partnerships and teaming agreements
Closing contracts
Writing proposals
Creating marketing materials
Developing clear value propositions for customers
Collaborating with other departments at Mach Industries, including Finance, Legal, Engineering, and Operations
Assisting with events and trade shows
Working with current customers to help solve their problems and ensure success
Helping with international sales, including into conflict zones, and / or with international exercises with DOD
Desired Qualifications:
5+ years of direct sales experience to the Department of Defense
Exceptional writer
Exceptional presenter
A strategic thinker who can quickly break down a customer’s problems and present a compelling value proposition
Deep understanding of the Department of Defense, including how money moves and decisions are made related to weapons systems
Skilled at building customer facing sales decks
Fluent in government contracting rules and regulations, including the federal acquisition regulations
Strong experience negotiating contracts and justifying pricing
Highly adaptive
Ability to manage multiple projects at once
It’s also a plus if you have experience in the military; with UAVs or missiles; doing international sales; and have an active security clearance

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most offers and are considered part of Mach’s total compensation package.
