Learning and Development Manager
At 24 Hour Fitness we strive to create happier, healthier lives for our members and our team! Investing in our team members' experience and cultivating a culture of engagement are critical to our mission. Reporting to the Director, Learning and Development, this role is instrumental in bringing this investment to life. It will provide leadership to the Learning team and lead the design and implementation of the 24 Hour Fitness' learning strategy. The Manager, Learning and Development will serve as a member of the broader 24 HR leadership team providing perspective and skill to help drive our annual objectives and key results. This role will include significant Operations and Fitness organization collaboration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Partner with key stakeholders to design, implement, and sustain a relevant curriculum framework that accelerates the business.
  • Identify learning needs and performance gaps for both field and support team members.
  • Align learning activities and collateral with 24HR's mission, values, and strategy.
  • Create innovative learning solutions that support the adoption of key HR and organization initiatives.
  • Develop project plans and robust communication plans to support the launch of training initiatives.
  • Lead learning rollouts across target audience in partnership with HR and Operations teams.
  • Collect and assess training user feedback to assess effectiveness of training content and materials.
  • Maintain training records, using learning management system insights to drive performance.
  • Manage members of the Learning team; ensure they have the resources and coaching necessary to complete high quality work and grow their careers at 24 Hour.
  • Review and provide feedback on Learning team work products.
  • Monitor and adjust team processes, ensuring adherence, effectiveness, and proper documentation.
  • Work closely with vendor partners to maximize contributions and achieve business objectives.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Director, Learning and Development, and frequently partners with field and support team leadership, including Executive Leadership, Regional Vice Presidents, District Managers, General Managers, Support Team Heads, Human Resources, and Club Operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and other central support and field business partners.
  • Excellent communication skills: written, oral, and presentation.
  • Effective interpersonal skills; experience building and leveraging relationships across organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of adult learning processes, tools, and technology; includes in-person and digital tools and best practice.
  • Proven ability to design compelling learning modules suited to adult learners.
    Able to facilitate dynamic training to groups large and small, via in person and remote learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment on multiple projects with changing priorities, in budget.
  • Ability to perform basic to intermediate analysis of organizational data (e.g., survey responses, business outcomes) and present results in a clear and concise manner.
  • Technical writing and design skills.
  • Computer proficiency with advanced skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Preferred experience with Articulate and Adobe Pro.
Educational Level and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree of Arts or Science preferred.
  • Certification in technical design or training preferred.
  • 5+ years of learning and development experience in a multi-unit business model with significant non-exempt team member population.
  • 2+ years of experience overseeing learning and development professionals or equivalent leadership experience.
Travel Requirement
  • Up to 10% local and domestic travel required.

Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to member and team members, contracted providers and vendors.
WORKPLACE SAFETY: In addition to defined working conditions and physical requirements, employees are accountable for working safely; following established policies & procedures; and reporting all injuries and hazards to their supervisor immediately.
Supervisors and Managers are accountable for ensuring the safety performance of employees; applying consistent practices in compliance with federal, state and local regulations; providing guidance to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
