Root cause medicine is revolutionizing healthcare, empowering providers and patients to go beyond treating symptoms and instead approach complex, chronic health conditions with a deep understanding of a personalized, root cause. At Rupa, we are building the infrastructure to make this approach the standard of care for every person on the planet, starting with specialty lab testing. Rupa turns an archaic 15 hour-a-week process into a delightful 15 min task for practitioners ordering specialty lab tests – including DNA, microbiome, advanced fertility, hormonal, and blood labs – for their patients.

The personalized medicine market is expected to reach ~$800B by 2028, providing a huge opportunity for us as a first mover in this space. With a clear mission, strong financial backing, and explosive growth over the past 3 years, our future success depends on our ability to operate cohesively from a clear, forward-looking financial plan.

📊 The Role - A day in the life in Strategic Finance at Rupa Health

Imagine… You wake up and start your day with a cup of your favorite morning beverage. This is it - today is the Long-Term Financial Plan Review.

You reflect back on your path to this point. You dove deep into our marketing funnel conversion and identified key trends that will impact the growth of our user base. You worked hand-in-hand with our data analytics team to understand ordering behavior and retention. You have reviewed and iterated over budgets with each department. To top it all off, you’ve organized all of these data points into a cohesive financial model that will guide the company over the next 12 months and beyond.

But your work doesn’t stop with an Excel spreadsheet. You’re also consistently raising the bar for financial reporting at Rupa, building out new dashboards that combine our operational metrics with our revenue and expenses. You use trends and the results of your analyses to constantly improve the accuracy of our financial model. Your work empowers the company to make informed decisions, optimize operations, and seize new opportunities.

On top of that, you are constantly collaborating with multiple departments and improving our processes. One day you may be working with our Customer Experience leaders on projecting future staffing needs, the next will see you partnering with our engineering and lab operations team on increasing the accuracy of our billing statements. Through it all, you are fostering a culture of financial literacy, accountability, and data-driven decision-making while guiding the team in solving critical business problems.

This is just another day at the office for you. Strategic planning is your bread and butter, powered by your strong financial background and a knack for data analyses and interpretation. Your ability to integrate and simplify complex financial concepts and operational data sets you apart as a true business partner that drives results.

👋 Does this sound like you?! ⬇️

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• You bring 3+ years of experience in strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, or business intelligence, preferably in a similar industry
• You're a master in Excel, comfortable with large datasets, and proficient in BI tools and software (e.g. Tableau/Looker/PowerBI; knowledge of SQL/Python/R a plus)
• You’re a master communicator (written, verbal, visual) and can clearly articulate the intricacies of a financial model in a succinct way for all audiences
• Your project management skills shine, with a track record of successfully driving projects to completion
• Effective interpersonal skills allow you to collaborate seamlessly and build relationships across all levels of an organization
• You're dedicated to improving business outcomes through accurate financial projections and data-driven decision-making
