Purchasing Agent

Summary/Objective

The purchasing agent negotiates vendor terms and prices using knowledge inventory levels, budget and schedule requirements.


$40,000 - $65,000 a year
Essential Functions
1.       Works with vendors to get quotes
2.       Negotiates best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements
3.       Plans and orders material to meet customer delivery requirements
4.       Analyzes sales order releases with respect to material requirements
5.       Adheres to purchasing policies, processes and procedures
6.       Carries out warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures
7.       Coordinate product deliveries and confirms receipt of material
8.       Releases purchase orders for production material, floor stock items and all purchases
9.       Interfaces with vendors to get updates on material status and production issues
