PRN Ultrasound Sonographer

To qualify for the PRN Ultrasound Sonographer position at Health by Design, you need to have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Sonography or Medical Radiology, along with a minimum of one year of clinical experience or training. Additionally, you must hold the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RVT) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RVS) certifications.

As a PRN Ultrasound Sonographer at Health by Design, your main responsibilities will include performing ultrasound scans such as Carotids, abdominal exams, and delivering preliminary findings to physicians. You'll also need to explain procedures to patients, ensure their comfort during exams, monitor the equipment settings, and maintain patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR).

In the PRN Ultrasound Sonographer role at Health by Design, you will perform a variety of imaging procedures, including Carotid Intima-Media Thickness Tests, scans of the abdomen, kidneys, thyroid, and extremities, among others. These scans are essential for assisting physicians in diagnosing and monitoring a wide range of conditions.

As a PRN Ultrasound Sonographer at Health by Design, you may be required to work at any of our four clinic locations in San Antonio, including Westover Hills, Fair Oaks, Schertz, and South San Antonio. Flexibility in your scheduling is essential, as shifts will often be planned in advance but may also be needed on an urgent basis.

To be successful as a PRN Ultrasound Sonographer at Health by Design, you need strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to patients. A solid understanding of medical terminology and proficiency with electronic medical records systems are also crucial, along with CPR certification and excellent interpersonal skills.
