You will as a consensus builder, problem solver, and team leader for the overall security organization.To be successful in this role, you must possess strong technical acumen and an innate ability to balance security requirements and business objectives. In your role as Senior Principal Cybersecurity Specialist, you will be empowered to represent the GCISO during planning and design initiatives to ensure security measures are incorporated into the global strategy. You’ll provide clearly defined strategies and priorities to maximize collaboration and consensus.Your key activities will include:• Develop, implement, and oversee the company's network security and security architecture, driving forward a cyber security roadmap (tools, technologies, methodologies) with the goal of reducing enterprise risk.• Drive a cross-organization security strategy, with a shift-left approach, to ensure security is effectively integrated from software design and through release.• Drive innovation in new methods and approaches to security architecture.Additional responsibilities may involve:• Lead at least one technical area with a security engineering focus, and drive impact within team, technologies, and projects across departments.• Responsible for the planning, design and build of security architectures; oversees the implementation of network and computer security and ensures compliance with corporate cybersecurity policies and procedures.• Performs security assessments of applications and systems using penetration and vulnerability testing and risk analysis.• Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making, problem-solving, and continuous improvement• Working knowledge of full-stack security engineering including network security appliances such as SD-WAN, Firewalls, Proxy, IPS, End-Point Protection• Champion security engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement.• Implement formal security governance process to set priorities, goals, efficiency and leverage of cyber resources.• Drive the design, implementation, and deployment of security systems aligned with business need.• Guide a team of experts in providing technical support and ensuring the reliable operation of cloud production environments.• Implement leading-edge security technologies to enhance infrastructure performance while maintaining comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.• Develop auditing methodologies and architecture to effectively manage and safeguard data in environments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.• Serve as a subject matter expert, partnering with stakeholders across the enterprise to identify and address cybersecurity architecture and engineering needs and assessments.• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues escalated from staff members, while updating, writing, and maintaining documentation for the department• Lead system administration activities and develop best practices for systems analysis, including system requirements analysis, definition, and logical design.• Industry knowledge of security product market trends and directional awareness of MDT’s roadmap and technology development efforts• Demonstrated experience in working directly with customers at senior levels within an organization, as well as working with industry partners and alliances.• Technical Knowledge-Demonstrated knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, wireless, WAN, and firewall configuration and management. Experience with Cisco firewalls and/or Palo Alto Networks firewalls is required. Ability to read network captures.• Experience working in large complex environments. PR) locations (USD):$160,800.00 - $241,200.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
