Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.

Responsibilities:
Noblis ESI is seeking a Modeling & Simulation intern. This intern will develop applied modeling and simulation experience using database and visualization tools. The selected intern does not have to have a clearance to apply but should be interested/able to obtain one. The intern will work remotely but must be able to travel Chantilly, VA for orientation and traniing.
In this internship, the intern will:

Use the Systems Tool Kit (STK) modeling software to pose a series of intelligent queries on a daily basis.

Take known quantifiable data from commercial space projects and help assess how this data will potentially impact government projects.

Utilize database skills to assess meta data, integrate new data and correlate that information, as it relates to different programs and outcomes.

Perform research & distill information into structured data.

One goal is to change the complexity of space operations.
Qualifications:
The desired candidate is a rising sophomore or above and is interested in pursuing a clearance.
Desired programs are either:
1.) Computer Science (familiarity with databases and database query languages), or
2.) Aeronautical or Astronautical Engineering (interest in using a focused tool to model satellite and satellite constellation orbits.
3.) Candidate must have a minimum of a 3.3 GPA in current program of study.
Additional Information Regarding Qualifications:
Ideal Candidate may be majoring in STEM/STEAM. Computer Science, Aeronautical or Astronautical Engineering & Mathematics.-
Seeking ideally a rising sophomore or junior.

Has a strong interest in modeling and simulation. This position will rely heavily on orbit modeling.

Working knowledge of database design, structured and unstructured data. Some information gathered could be collected using a Robotic Process Automation/RPA.
Preferred:
Has familiarity with Matlab or Mathematica.-
Familiarity with databases and database query languages such as MySQL, Access, and SQL.

Has the ability to create short programs in Python, Perl or other scripting languages to automate data processing.

Candidate may enjoy strategy games, such a Risk.
