Salary: $29.78/hr. - $31.71/hr.

Job Summary:  
The Parent Mentor Program (PMP) Trainer champions evidence-based, trauma-informed mentoring practices across Oregon through comprehensive training and program development. This dynamic role combines curriculum expertise, training facilitation, and system-wide enhancement to strengthen parent mentor services statewide. The PMP Trainer will design and facilitate engaging virtual and in-person training for direct care staff, partner agencies, and community organizations. Responsibilities include developing strategic partnerships, evaluating training effectiveness, coordinating with Parent Advisory Consultation teams, and providing technical assistance to implement the PMP model. By guiding continuous improvement of training materials and fostering professional growth, the PMP Trainer expands the capacity of Oregon's parent mentor workforce, directly contributing to strengthening families and communities through evidence-based support.
  
Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential functions include the following duties and responsibilities, core competencies and other characteristics.  The incumbent in this position is required to perform the following duties, which is representative to the level of work appropriate to this position.)  
  • Deliver direct training to PMP staff, drawing on best practices in educational principles and adult learning theory, working with internal and external material to ensure training maximizes the value for the participant.   
  • Orchestrate full training execution, including precise scheduling, location planning, and developing streamlined registration systems, while assessing the effectiveness of training initiatives through comprehensive feedback strategies.
  • Work directly with Quality Improvement to design and implement evaluative methods and tools to measure trainings and technical assistance program success and effectiveness.  Recommend, develop, and implement strategies, processes, and trainings for individuals, teams, and larger groups.    
  • Partner with Program Director to evaluate client data, driving strategic service improvements and ensuring alignment with family and community requirements. 
  • Proactively identify and analyze training requirements, generating actionable strategies and developing training resources utilizing PMP material.
  • Work closely with department and team leaders to establish ongoing essential learning curriculum for all PMP staff.
  • Pursue professional growth and development by seeking out learning opportunities and integrating new learning into daily work practices. Maintain a working knowledge of current trends in SUD practices and recovery coaching/peer work practices
  • Other duties as assigned.  
  • Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices. 
  • Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to equity and inclusion in the workplace; model appropriate behaviors; develop, recommend, and implement improvements to business practices with awareness and understanding of the impact in a trauma-informed and culturally diverse organization. 
Competencies: (The competencies needed to be successful in this position. An awareness of these competencies is generally required for the position, though continued development in each is expected)  
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and demonstrated facilitation skills for effectively engaging adult learners in both in-person and virtual training environments.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems
  • Strong technology skills and ability to effectively utilize web-based training platforms and online learning management systems (LMS)
  • Strict adherence to timeframes, policy, and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize duties and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to track and analyze data. 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing in English.  
  • Interpret information, utilize critical thinking skills, and explain concepts to others.  
  • Maintain effective working relationships with agency employees at all levels. 
  • Define and resolve moderately complex problems.  
  • Able to hold each other and yourself accountable to the diversity and uniqueness of all individuals within Morrison, our clients, and our community stakeholders. 
Required Position Qualifications: (Minimum qualifications required by the contract/program to be considered for hire into this position)  
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or an equivalent degree in behavioral sciences or a social service field. (Three years of related work experience may substitute for a degree.)       
  • Three years of experience in the provision of social services in family support or family strengthening service or child abuse prevention services.
  • Sixty hours of training in substance abuse, prevention, and recovery (can be completed within 6 months of hire. Training hours can be from past years)
  • Position is hybrid (remote/in-person) and the candidate must have an appropriate workspace to complete documentation, phone calls, and video conferencing.
Preferred Position Qualifications: (preference may be given to those who hold these qualifications; however, candidates who meet the required position qualifications are encouraged to apply)  
  • Experience with e-learning highly preferred
  • Knowledge of trauma, abuse and neglect, substance abuse and dependence, child welfare system, related group and individual interventions.  
Other Requirements: (provide specific details relevant to the position such as environment, physical requirements of the position, availability requirements, etc.)  
  • Able to work shift hours and days, as assigned   
  • Occasional travel via car to visit different work sites   
  • Able to pass a comprehensive criminal history background investigation    
Physical demands and work environment:  
  • ​​​Visual acuity allowing for analysis of written data.   
  • Manual dexterity allowing for operation of routine office equipment (computers, telephone, fax, copy machine, typewriter, calculator, etc.)   
  • Physical dexterity allowing for reaching, stooping, and repetitive motion of wrist, hand or fingers.
