Our partner is looking for a multifaceted SQL Developer to play a critical role with the Data Engineering team. You will be part of the team working to deliver paginated reports, data through API driven request, data element visualizations and grid-based reports in a near real time manner. You will work with a team of internal and external resources in design and objectives, and drive overall platform performance.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in a technical position and be adept at interpreting customer deliverables and platform opportunities.
Key Areas of responsibility:
● Actively participating in creation (or facilitation) of specifications
● Actively participating in project sizing and resource requirements
● Work with the team to brainstorm the technical solution
● Arrive at a consensus for solution architecture and design
● Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
● Optimizing performance of queries, data pipelines, reports and dashboards
● Perform data quality checks on extracted data
● Create reports and dashboards that make complex data easily consumable
● Ensuring quality of the end deliverable
● Establishing and executing the deployment strategy
● Communicate status updates
● Comfortable with iterative development
● A thorough understanding of software processes (development, configuration, testing, and deployment)
● Be a motivated self-starter who is also a team player with great cross-group collaboration skills
● Excellent oral and communication skills
● Track record of successfully delivering high quality projects on time in a fast-paced/rapidly changing environment
● Detail oriented, yet able to look at a wide array of choices
● 5 to 8+ years of relevant work experience in SQL software development
● 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in AWS
● 3 to 5 years of experience with AWS ecosystem, especially Redshift and S3
● Strong understanding of data architecture, modeling and infrastructure
● Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. D3, PowerBI, AG—Grid)
● Experience with large, cross-functional technical projects
● Experience delivering production‐grade software
● Extensive experience troubleshooting internal and externally developed code.
● Comfortable handling scope change and uncertainty
● Ability to assist others in their work and assess the quality of other’s work.
● Excited to learn new technologies
● Enjoys solving problems / finding new solutions to technical challenges
● CI/CD practices
● Atlassian JIRA experience a plus
