Job Description

The Senior Associate Director, Private Markets will manage the day-to-day administration and financial reporting service requirements for our Private Equity and Private Debt clients. These services will include all accounting and transaction administration for private market funds. The role will include the below key tasks.
You Will:

  • Manage a team of fund accountants by mentoring, training and supporting them through all aspects of the NAV process
  • Provide a full range of fund accounting services to private market clients, including NAV review and preparation
  • Assist with setting up and reviewing consolidations through the investment structure using various consolidation rules
  • Review third party reconciliations of investments and cash
  • Review capital call and distribution calculations and notices
  • Review fee schedules including calculation of management fees and carried interest, ensuring all calculations observe applicable fund documents
  • Review investor allocations for each NAV cycle ensuring capital transactions are booked correctly and P&L is allocated correctly
  • Review client Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs), PPMs, and other materials and ensure service levels are in line with such legal documents
  • Collaborate with client, banks, auditors and other third party providers to ensure smooth delivery to clients and completion of deliverables

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education/University Degree with a concentration in finance or accounting.
  • At least 5 years' experience working in the fund administration industry with experience managing staff. This can include other administrators, asset managers or auditors.
  • Experience working in private markets is preferred
  • Experience with fund accounting software Geneva and/or Investran would be beneficial
  • Completion or interest in a professional accounting designation (CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, CFA (or equivalent)) an asset
  • Strong understanding of the fund administration and private markets industry. This includes complex fund structures, fee schedules, private equity or private debt instruments and financial statements.
