Job Summary:

The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership by identifying, developing, and executing capital projects for the factory. This position ensures adherence to all established key components and project deliverables, managing overall project execution including construction and commissioning. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with clients and various internal and external groups.

 

Key Responsibilities:
Preliminary Project Development:
• Assist in developing pre-project approval documents including project charter, project management plan, project kick start, estimate, and milestone schedule creation.
• Monitor design progress and ensure deliverables meet established project key components.
• Coordinate bid package development and release for construction bidding and field execution.
• Select contractors and contracting methods based on engineering methodologies.

 

Project Execution Support and Facilitation:
• Direct and execute installation, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects.
• Manage adherence to project scope and secure approvals for all changes.
• Control project budget, providing cost forecasts and cash flow projections.
• Maintain project milestone schedules with integrated detailed scheduling.
• Manage data collection and feedback processes for projects.
• Ensure compliance with quality and GMP requirements in accordance with FDA and OSHA regulations.
• Provide construction management and plant startup assistance.
• Evaluate, select, and issue contracts for construction firms through bidding and prequalification processes.
• Provide self-directed project management from end to end with minimal supervision.

 

Administrative / Business Support:
• Monitor work output from less senior engineers as assigned.
• Provide technical support to factory operations.
• Support and participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance Management (TPM).

 

Safety:
• Ensure an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations and question the impact of changes on product safety/quality, people safety, and the environment.

 

Other:
• Adhere to the highest principles of ethical conduct.
• Encourage clear and open communication between team members and stakeholders.
• Protect Nestlé's technological and proprietary know-how.

 

Qualifications:
• University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience with a minimum of 1+ years of related work experience.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Ability to analyze data and use problem-solving techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to complete major projects in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to schedule resources effectively.
• Additional consideration for subject matter experts in specific engineering fields (process, packaging, refrigeration, etc.).

 

Skills:
• Project management experience, leading projects under $1 million.
• Knowledge of PMI Project Management Institute stage gate procedures and tools.
• Basic knowledge in I & I pillar project methods.
• Ability to manage scope, cost, schedule, and risks on small projects.
• Ability to work in both office and factory settings during the construction phase.

The approximate pay range for this position is $90,000.00 to $110,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
