SUMMARY OF THE ROLE 


At NextDecade, our commercial team plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the energy sector. We are dedicated to driving strategic initiatives that impact the global energy landscape, and our Commercial Analyst Internships offer a unique opportunity for aspiring professionals to gain hands-on experience in this dynamic environment.


What You'll Do: As a Commercial Analyst Intern, you will be involved in a range of activities that support our commercial strategy and operations, which could include:


  • Market Analysis: Assist in analyzing energy markets, including supply and demand trends, pricing, and market dynamics.
  • Financial Modeling: Support the development of financial models to evaluate commercial opportunities and assess the economic viability of projects.
  • Commercial Strategy Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing commercial data.

  • Students graduating December 2025 through December 2026 perferred, pursuing degrees in business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a strong interest in the energy sector and commercial strategy.

Duration and Compensation: This internship program typically lasts 8-10 weeks offering valuable exposure to the LNG and energy industry. Compensation and additional benefits will be discussed during the interview process.


Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, either now or in the future.

Work Environment 

This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc.This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift. 

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations: 

·  Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.

·  Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions.

·  While performing the duties of this role, the incumbent may be required to talk or hear.

·  The incumbent is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

·  Ability to move throughout all areas of each office/site location and facilities.

·  Able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
