Job Summary

The Senior Instructional Designer will take ownership of developing engaging instructional materials and facilitating training sessions to support various teams across Nextech. This role will involve designing innovative learning solutions, leveraging instructional theory and collaborating closely with subject matter experts to meet organizational training objectives.

Essential Functions
  • Instructional Material Development: Create, design and edit courses, curriculum and learning materials tailored to support diverse teams. 
  • Interactive Learning: Develop computer-based training (CBT) modules, storyboards and online learning experiences to facilitate knowledge retention and engagement. 
  • Learning Assessments: Design and implement assessments to evaluate and measure learning transfer and effectiveness. 
  • Training Facilitation: Lead in-person and virtual training sessions, ensuring effective delivery of instructional content to employees and teams. 
  • Collaboration: Partner with subject matter experts, particularly in customer support or service departments, to create accurate and impactful training materials. 
  • Content Lifecycle Management: Analyze, update and refine existing online content to maintain relevance and alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Technology Expertise: Train instructors, students and employees on how to use learning technologies effectively. 
  • Project Management: Manage learning projects from ideation to completion, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met. 
  • Design and Innovation: Develop instructor manuals, rubrics, scripts for multimedia content and other teaching tools to enhance learning outcomes. 
  • Process Improvement: Establish and refine processes to improve instructional design efficiency and learner experience. 
  • Best Practices: Stay up-to-update on instructional design methodologies and trends, incorporating best practices into learning solutions. 


Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years Demonstrated success designing and implementing large-scale training programs for SaaS organizations or other technology-driven environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with instructional design tools, including Articulate Storyline, Rise, or similar platforms.
  • Strong experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and eLearning technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end learning initiatives, from needs assessment to program evaluation.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education or a related discipline (preferred but not required). 
  • Experience designing software training programs. 
  • Familiarity with instructional design frameworks like Cathy Moore’s Action Mapping and AIDA design principles. 
  • Experience working with customer service or support teams. 
  • Background in healthcare or related industries (preferred but not required). 
  • Certifications such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Articulate Certified Storyline Developer, or similar credentials.


Working Environment/Physical Demands
  • Remote within the United States
  • Long-distance or air travel as needed – not to exceed 10% travel. 
  • Activities require a significant amount of work in front of a computer monitor.
