Person has the responsibility for understanding 3GPP Specifications, Nokia product implementation, integrating, testing and verification of Nokia 5G RAN with other Devices/Chipets from Key eco-system partners. As part of these activities, the Engineer should be able to understand Nokia 5G RAN implementation and design test plans to verify Nokia 5G RAN functionalities. Ensure good inter-operability with Devices and 5G RAN. Work as an expert in 5G RAN and lead and execute technical activities and projects in own responsibility areas. Write requirements by understanding specifications, prepare test plans, reports, and other guiding documentation from a technical point of view. May work also outside of own process area on technical issues. Solves complex engineering problems in many technology areas especially 4G and in 5G-4G interworking areas. Coaches other team members in solving complex engineering problems. Undertakes technical training responsibilities.The main objective is to work as a System Engineer to support Nokia 5G and LTE products.Responsibilities:• Test cases planning including reviews/analysis of feature specifications.• Test specification work including creating/updating/reviewing test documents (i.e. test plans, test cases, test reports, feature specification, instructions etc).• Perform inter-operability testing with OEM/Chipset vendors in Nokia lab and if needed in the customer lab.• Install, commission, and integrate 5G gNB and 4G eNB in test environment.• Testing and reporting for assigned test cases.• Fault investigation/reporting which includes cooperation with other teams.• Analyze logs and troubleshoot problems from the field and customer lab.• Provide remote and/or on-site support to Nokia Test Teams on site and/or in customers lab.• Perform Lab maintenance activities which includes evaluating test tools and test equipment needed prior to each release, upgrading Network Elements, and building/expanding of workstations & 5G gNB/ 4G eNBs as needed.• Familiarization with the logging tools, processes and methods linked to the role (QXDM, Wireshark (5G and 4G), EMIL, SYSLogs, Sherpa etc).• Provide training to team members on new features/test equipment as needed.• Consults, supports and guides team members.• Travel 10%.Minimum Requirements:• At least 5+ years' experience in SW/HW integration or system testing Nokia wireless radio access products 5G/4G.• Knowledge on Nokia RF is a plus.• Understand E2E 5G, 4G network implementation.• Excellent knowledge of LTE and 5G radio interface protocols.• Good familiarity with LTE and 5G L1 and L2 concepts (OFDM, RRM, Frame structure, Beamforming, scheduler, etc).• Ability to understand and evaluate internal/external (3GPP) specifications.• Experience with test analysis, test planning and test case design.• Strong experience with system testing and troubleshooting.• Experience with test equipment & Tools: signal generators, spectrum analyzers, test mobile, protocol analyzer.• Experience with UE testing and UE log analysis (e.g. via QXDM, QCAT etc).Come create the technology that helps the world act together.Nokia is committed to innovation and technology leadership across mobile, fixed and cloud networks.
