Senior Product Designer

About Us:

Novellia is seed-stage startup on a mission to help each person reclaim ownership of their health — one medical record at a time. Our product is a free patient portal for cancer patients and others battling serious conditions that gives our users access to all of their medical history in one place. As we enter an exciting phase of growth, we’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team and take ownership of product design, shaping both the user experience and product strategy as we scale.

At this early stage, you'll have the opportunity to wear multiple hats, work directly with our Head of Design & leadership, and influence the direction of the product in meaningful ways. We are looking for a creative, strategic, and hands-on designer who is comfortable with ambiguity and ready to dive into complex design challenges in the healthcare space.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead product design: Own the end-to-end product design process—from research and ideation to high-fidelity design and user testing. Shape the user experience for the web and mobile app experiences, and ensure they align with our vision and goals.

  • Design meaningful healthcare solutions: Tackle challenging problems in healthcare with simple and intuitive design solutions. You will work on projects that involve simplifying health data, designing accessible and impactful tools, and helping our users navigate their health journey.

  • Collaborate on a small team: Partner closely with Engineers, Head of Design and CTO, along with other stakeholders to ensure design decisions are grounded in user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. You’ll also contribute to sales initiatives by collaborating with the commercial team and designing customer-facing deliverables.

  • Product and design strategy: Help define and evolve the overall product strategy, using research and insights to inform key design decisions and ensuring we stay aligned with market trends, user needs, and company objectives.

  • End-to-end design process: Conduct user interviews, user feedback, and competitive analysis to inform your design decisions. Take ideas from concept through iteration to launch. Scale and evolve our design system. Advocate for the user at every stage of the process, and iterate based on feedback.

  • Ownership & Execution: Take ownership of the product design process in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment. You’ll be expected to drive productivity, take initiative, and move projects forward with autonomy. You’ll also be expected to weigh trade-offs and collaborate effectively in order to deliver quality with speed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, ideally with experience in consumer-facing experiences and complex industries. You’ve been the point person for design of a product or key features, and have proven experience driving product direction. You’re looking to take on more ownership and influence as a designer and product thinker.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities: Experience tackling complex user problems, managing and navigating ambiguity, and finding innovative solutions that balance user needs and business goals.

  • User-Centered Design: You are passionate about the user experience and have experience conducting research, synthesizing insights, and socializing them with stakeholders to align on how to shape UX.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Excellent collaboration with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment and efficiency to solve for user, product and business needs.

  • Adaptability and Ownership: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fluid environment with limited resources. You are excited to dig deep on product as well as elevate design across the company. You are proactive, self-motivated, and can drive projects in the midst of ambiguity. You also hold yourself and others accountable to continue iterating and improving the user experience.

  • Bonus Points: Experience in building products at early-stage startups or in healthcare, familiarity with simplifying data-heavy or complex workflows, strong visual design and branding chops.

Why Join Us?

  • Impact: Design a better world for patients who deserve better. Join us in redefining how patients manage and understand their personal health.

  • Ownership: You'll have the chance to shape design and the product. Your input will directly influence the product and business strategy.

  • Fast-Paced, Dynamic Environment: Work in a fast-growing startup where you’ll design and ship quickly while learning how to build 0 to 1. Work on initiatives outside of product to get a holistic view of how we are shaping business.

  • Collaborative Culture: We value transparency, direct communication, and collaboration across the team. You'll be working closely with the leadership team and engineers to bring the product vision to life.

  • Career Growth: As a seed-stage company, you'll have the opportunity to take on more responsibility, shape design as a practice, and grow your career as the company scales.

  • Competitive Salary & Benefits: We offer a competitive salary, equity options, flexible paid time off, and excellent benefits.
