This analyst will be responsible for:• Ensuring HAI data are entered into local, state and federal government databases to ensure external reporting compliance• Helping to support health system efforts to maximize patient safety and efficiency• Supporting process improvements and standardizationacross the IPC data team• Assisting specifically with data systems and processes at the NYULH-Brooklyn campus, spending time in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, as requiredThe analyst will contribute to the development, implementation and success of hospital-wide IPC projects and initiatives.Job Responsibilities• Ensure that data on HAIs and antimicrobial stewardship are reported routinely to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) and to the centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and complete appropriate validation procedures• Ensure that reportable conditions are sent to the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene• Respond to data requests and prepare internal reports on HAIs as needed• Participate in infection control projects in a hospital setting, such as environmental surveillance sampling• Help to stabilize and improve existing data processes and work with others in IPC to standardize protocols across the NYULH system• Work collaboratively with others in order to support reporting needs• Focus specifically on data processes and needs at the NYULH-Brooklyn campus• Perform other duties as aligned with the mission and the values of the organizationRequirements and qualifications:Minimum Qualifications• To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in relevant field such as biostatistics, epidemiology, clinical informatics, information• management or public health, or similar field• Detail oriented and organized• Written and oral communication skills applicable to a wide variety of audiences.• Experience with collecting and analyzing health data with the ability to articulate findings.• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.• Experience in at least 1 querying language (e.g., SAS, Stata, R, SPSS)• Preferred candidates will also have: Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills,• Ability to approach new problems and develop a systematic, comprehensive solution. Teams well with others but also able to work independently as needed. Ability to manage change and ambiguity in a fast-paced environmentQualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
