Osteal Therapeutics:


Osteal Therapeutics, Inc. (Osteal) is a late clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing a novel pipeline of combination product therapeutics for musculoskeletal infections and their consequences. Our lead investigational candidate, VT-X7 was granted Breakthrough Therapy, Orphan Disease, FastTrack and Qualified Infectious Disease Product designations by the US Food and Drug Administration and is rapidly completing its clinical trial program for the treatment of Periprosthetic Joint Infection (PJI) with launch expected in 2025. A robust pipeline of additional indications and therapeutic candidates will lead to rapid and sustained growth for the foreseeable future. 



POSITION SUMMARY


The Director, National and Strategic Accounts will report to the Senior Director, Value & Access and be responsible for leading strategic partnerships and account management with key national healthcare organizations, including large hospital systems, integrated health networks (IDNs), and payers. A key component of success in this role is the ability to establish the clinical and economic value of VT-X7, increase formulary, protocol and EHR adoption within targeted health care systems. This role requires an experienced, results-driven leader who understands the complexities of the healthcare reimbursement landscape, particularly in inpatient hospital settings, and who can drive national account strategy in a fast-paced, startup environment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

· Represent Osteal to gain patient access through formulary inclusion at major hospitals, hospital systems, and IDNs.

· Pre-commercial account profiling will include Pre-Approval Information Exchange (PIE) presentation scheduling and execution.

· Develop and cultivate relationships with a wide range of clinical, medical, pharmacy, policy, and executive contacts and advocates within all influential functions of the target account.

· Collaborate with field sales, field reimbursement, clinical, and all other key Osteal internal stakeholders to accelerate the P&T review process.

· Identify access issues and challenges within payer and health system accounts. Engage with appropriate resources to create solutions.

· Meet or exceed access objectives and optimize formulary and reimbursement positioning.

· Identify business opportunities and development of actionable plans to pull through business associated with favorable formulary policy.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred.

· Minimum 8 years of successful Market Access and account management experience in the hospital market.

· Prior experience, including launch experience in Market Access desired.

· Minimum 3 years of experience calling on IDN/GPO/Payers corporate account customers.

· Experience gaining new, branded product acceptance within health systems and IDNs and driving use through protocol and order set development required.

· Experience with academic medical center account management preferred.

· Executive presence and a history of interfacing with high level system executives


Knowledge and Skills

· In-depth experience with inpatient reimbursement structures, including DRGs, bundled payments, and value-based care models, and other inpatient reimbursement incentives, to drive product access within the inpatient hospital environment.

· Knowledge and understanding of payer environment and understanding of the evolving reimbursement landscape.

· Knowledge of Orthopedic market dynamics.

· Strong analytical skills, financial business acumen, and the ability to successfully develop and implement strategic plans.

· Strategic thinking, planning, communication and demonstrated ability to influence.

· High emotional intelligence and a professional disposition that is consistent with the company’s vision and values.

· Ability to quickly adjust to work environment changes and proactively move projects and priorities forward in the face of ambiguity.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, with a strategic, results-oriented mindset.

 

 

Location

East Coast preferred (remote) – up to 75% travel required.
