Job Summary:

Registers patients, recording clinical, financial and demographic information

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Enters this information into computer system

  • Greets patients entering registration area

  • Answers telephones and directs messages to appropriate parties

  • Collects payments from patients for services rendered

  • Processes third party payer requests for payment

  • Schedules patient appointments, referrals and consults on computer/manual system

  • Provides information to Billing, Accounting and Medical Records

  • Deposits and reconciles all cash against deposits and posted transactions

  • Ensures deposits are safeguarded and secured in accordance with organizational policy

  • Demonstrated the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned area

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) and some college required.

  • Experience in a medical/customer service environment preferred.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $26.36 - $27.76 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
