Summary

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the qualified candidate will be responsible for various aspects of the payroll function for hourly employees.

Hybrid Schedule, 3 days in the office, 2 days work from home 8:30AM-5:00PM

Pay rate: $55,000-$60,000

Location: Parsippany, NJ

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Maintain payroll information by adhering to the established controls & processes, overseeing the collection, calculation, and entering of payroll data.
Comfortable working with a proprietary time and attendance software which ultimately feeds our UKG payroll software.
Oversee wage garnishment process performed by offshore team.
Process monthly “Living Our Core” bonus checks to recognized employees.
Bi-weekly transmission/reconciliation of 401(k) files to our administrator.
Monitor the general payroll voicemail and address issues accordingly.
Pay employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts for the company’s weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles.
Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Assist with department-wide special projects as needed.

Requirements:

1 -2 years of experience in a payroll function – payroll for a large number of hourly employees (at least 2,500 employees) – preferably in the service industry
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
Bi-lingual (English & Spanish fluency)
Experience using large payroll software solutions such as UKG (Ultipro), ADP, Paychex or other software solutions
Problem solving skills
Proficient at MS Office (especially Excel)
Team player, highly organized
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment including working overtime hours as necessary
