If staff need to go into the office to collaborate, the space is there, and if they have a day where they need to focus alone, then staying home works just fine, too.Your role.Your work will include, but not be limited to:• Participate the firm-wide process of establishing firm-wide accounting policies and evaluating and implementing new accounting standards• Participate in content development of internal resources for practice staff including:• Accounting Technical Alerts and Updates for internal and external distribution• Creation of guidance and tools for assurance staff• Development of accounting and assurance training content• Develop and maintain assurance programs and checklists• Lead and support special projects as required, including research, analysis and communication• Interaction with the firm’s Professional Standards Team Central Office and Industry Technical Leaders to determine impacts of new accounting and auditing standards in relevant industries• Monitor, review and interpret impact on the Firm of new accounting/reporting standards, interpretations, or proposals promulgated by various professional and regulatory agencies including the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB)• Develop responses to FASB, SEC, and IASB on their proposals for comment• Provide support to firm-wide assurance, independence and quality management initiativesThe Qualifications.• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required• CPA certification is required• 6 years of recent public accounting experience is required• Demonstrated technical aptitude in accounting and auditing• Strong technical research skills, including use of electronic tools• 20% travel is required for this roleOur difference.On the surface, we’re one of the nation’s largest audit, tax, consulting, and wealth management firms.
